Evil of the World

One of the many things I tend to rant about with those who will listen to my ramblings is my inherent hatred of organized religion, and what it does and has done to our society and civilization. Placing a select few as those who are here on Earth to judge of guide us along our path is a very slippery slope to begin with, one that often ends with corruption and abuse.

A series done by a humanist that highlights the horrid things those in power due to religion have done, in the name of said religion in many cases. Whereas my evil characters are generally supernatural or merely twisted, these people are representatives of what is supposedly a wholly good entity: the fact that a supposed God allows such atrocities to be committed makes many actively not believe in him, and makes even more actively do so.
Those are the people that make me worried for the human race.

Stayed Behind, Part Two

Moving through the crowd and out of the crater, I smirk as several leatherworkers rush past me, tools in hand. Someone would have some new supplies to create a variety of things, most likely armor for the hunters the village has. I don’t really care as I already have my own set of demon-hide armor, one that I’ve worn well for years now.

Blood in the Sand, Part Two

“Sergeant!” Gentile called out, grabbing Joe’s attention away from the bliss of his first cigarette in two days. “You better come and see this!”
“I swear to god Gentile you better be looking at fuckin’ Osama bin Laden’s summer home for interrupting my smoke!” Joe grumbles as he places the cigarette precariously on a particularly large rock formation serving as a low wall for the detachment. Squat-walking over to where his sniper was peering through his scope, Joe brought his own binoculars up to his eyes, tracking where his sniper was watching.

Stayed Behind, Part One

Authors Note: A spin-off from my “Atheist’s Nightmare” series, this story will have heavy religious undertones. If you are not in favor of such metaphors I would suggest reading something else. Thank you, and as always, sweet dreams!
It’d been twelve years since the end of the world, the often scoffed about rapture. Turns out that Christianity had been right; when Hell was full, the dead would walk the earth. It was around the time when the first few zombie outbreaks started that people began disappearing, some vanishing in bright flashes of light. Tremors rocked the globe while tidal waves rocked the shorelines, all the while the dead feasted upon the living.

State of the Site

You may have noticed a certain series of fantasy-based stories cropping up on the site with little in the way of horror. I am taking a step forward as a writer and trying to write longer pieces where I can develop characters into something more than just a random victim.
Have no fear, the story will have horror elements to it as soon as possible, I just have to get there. Once I've posted the first half of what will hopefully be an e-book, I plan on leaving the second half off of the site to encourage people to buy my work.
Just bare with me and try and enjoy the ride. The story is evolving.

Carrie Remake

They've already begun plugging this remake pretty hard in the movies that I've seen as of late, and I must say I'm not looking forward to it. Like I said with the Evil Dead remake, I think that this will be a film that will best be judged on it's own merits than by judging it against it's predecessor. Sadly, this is one of those films where the entire movie seems to be revealed in the trailer.

The new movie, as you can probably guess, will be using quite a bit of fake blood in it. Just so you can see the differences in quality, here's the original trailer for the original movie.

Similarities exist, to be certain, but will they be the same movie? Only time, and eventually I, can tell.

Great Video of Religion, Comedy and a Splash of Horror

A cute little video about parents explaining different religions to their inquisitive daughter, who innocently asks whether God is a woman or not. Safe for work, believe it or not, so watch up and let me know what you thought of it.

     I can't stop laughing...

A Warrior's Tale, Part Four

James wakes from his slumber in his darkened chambers, instantly reaching for his heavy-hafted battle-axe in fashion he’d been drilling into himself since he’d been declared “The Horned One’s Champion.” The weapon, while hefty and made primarily from bone and steel, was also blessed by the rotting red skeleton Spicer, the cursed creature having spent an afternoon lazily etching Latin into the sharpened double headed blade. When prompted over what he was doing, the skeleton (or rather the tattooed child that spoke for him) gave a mirthless laugh.

Scary Schooldays Approaching

If you haven't guessed my political leanings by now then you must be new. If you haven't guessed my spiritual beliefs than you are brand new. This coming Friday is the "Day of Silence," an event where students who believe bullying in schools based on sexual orientation should be stopped decide to opt out of speaking for the day, instead using their guaranteed rights to "voice" their own opinion in their own way.
This of course caused (and still causes) a stir among the Far Right of our fair nation. While some suggest that you should keep your children at home this day, other organizations have taken this seemingly positive event and added a horrifying element to it.
     Proselytizing.
The very word shakes me to my very core.

These are cards that are handed out on this day by zealous students to any who are remaining silent in solidarity against bullying. I personally find it both hilarious and terrifying, as the God of the Bible is, at his kindest, an insane omnipotent grandfather.
At his harshest he's the most prolific serial killer in supposed history, the supposed being added that all of this only matters if he is real, which I've yet to have someone present to me a claim or a piece of evidence that proves that there is a God, let alone a Christian God.
But back to the terror, on the 19th some schools will become political battlegrounds between one of three factions: the silent kids, the kids handing out lame little cards and... the kids who stayed home. OK, so two factions. Should you be of High School age and reading my site, first of all shame on you, and second of all I hope you are one of the many who will avoid this mess altogether. School is a place of learning so please, for everyone's sake, learn!
