    Sitting in my robes as I write this post, savoring a warm cup of coffee, I can only think of the past few weeks of interaction with the rest of humanity. Is there something wrong with all of you, or am I just losing my grip on sanity? Well, I know I'm a little mad, but these days who isn't?

All Saint's Day, Part One

     Drifting out of your sleep, you slowly creak your eyes open as you feel the warmth of life suffuse your limbs, once cold with the rigor of death. Unfolding your arms from over your chest, you look around. Set within a deep tomb, you slowly push yourself to your aching knees, splaying your long fingers wide against the lid of your earthen womb. Pushing, the lid, which should be hard to remove, seems to slide off as if greased, falling to the wayside with a horrendous shatter of stone.

For the Worms

“You know, all this hunting has got me thinking,” Derek said as he bit into the leg of their freshest kill, juices dribbling down his chin.

“Thinking about what?” Monica asked, stoking the fire as she chewed on a fatty section of stomach like tobacco.

“About if I die young,” Derek revealed, earning groans from the other three gathered around the fire.

Post Mortem: The Quiet Ones

     A thriller to say the most, a horror film to say the least, The Quiet Ones paints itself as a new film about a girl that is haunted by some eerie spirit that just won't let her go. The patient, Jane Harper (Olivia Cooke) is a young woman who can make things happen with her mind, which has the scientist in charge of her therapy, Professor Joseph Coupland (Jared Harris) convinced that her paranormal happenings can be channeled away from her physically and psychically, which will purge her of her mental illness. Dr. Coupland approaches cameraman and film student Brian McNeil (Sam Clafin) to film the entire experience. He agrees and so they take to studying the girl and what causes her to react.

Site Update

     The lack of updates in the following week or two is due to a few reasons, so I must apologize in advance. But let me take a chance to explain myself before you tighten the noose around my neck.
     First, I'm currently pushing my novel like a drug peddler on different literary agents to see who can represent me in my hopes of getting published as a novelist. This is a venture that I have been working on for the last two months, but now that I have polished my work to a finer shine I am confident in sending out query letters.
     Second, I am going to be in a few new anthologies coming up. Demonic Visions Four will be coming out in June with a never before seen story of mine, while I will also be published in Sulfurings, a biblical anthology depicting what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah after they were smote from the heavens. This too contains a story that I uniquely crafted for the anthology, so when it is available I will post it up so you can have a read.
     Third, I'm going to begin restocking my personal tomes of new works, works meant for publishers eyes only. I will update the site with new tidbits now and again, but I need to add to my volumes before I can even think of posting like I have been. Post Mortem and other reviews will happen on a regular basis.

Fright Fight, Part One

Jeanine awoke with a sudden jolt, scooting back from her prone position on the floor until her back met wall. Years of military experience turned on and she found herself evaluating what her situation was: it was dark, but not so dark that she couldn't see. 

Post Mortem: Troll Hunter

     Troll Hunter, despite the name, is not some poorly made hokey little movie. It has a well thought out script and amazing special effects, as well as several moments where hilarity ensues, and even more suspenseful ones. Truly one of my favorite films in the last few months, this is one you can watch over and over without growing bored, though I must warn you, it is in subtitles. But so was Pan's Labyrinth and that turned out pretty amazing I think, don't you?

     As you can see by the theatrical trailer, it's an action packed ride from start to finish with questions such as "are you Christian?", where the answer could mean death by Troll or not, seeing as Trolls of all subspecies can sniff out Christians. At one point another camera person has to take the place of one who died, and is immediately asked "Are you a Christian? Do you accept Christ?" Taken aback, the woman stutters out that she's Muslim. The cast all look to the Troll Hunter, who merely shrugs and has no idea if that's a bad thing or not in this instance.
     Essentially this is a film where college kids are putting together a film for a college course and stumble across this hunter while he is taking care of some Trolls gone rogue. He helps them along the way, taking them under his wing, and shows them the trade of a professional Troll Hunter, on the governments tab. This of course isn't something his superiors like, and the end of the film is them taking the footage away from the students, but it is an amazing thrill ride the entire way, with plenty of scares and suspense.

Creatures in Horror: The Undead

     The undead. A large category of creatures that can be covered in three broad scopes, seeing as the exact definition is a creature that is animate while no longer being alive. You first have the unintelligent undead, the intelligent undead and the unseen undead. With these three categories, you can cover any monster in a horror movie if they ever cease life functions and rise to cause them some horror.
