Barring you've been living under a rock for the past year, then you know the great amount of delectable horror films we are going to receive in 2016. The first comes out, why, today in fact! The Boy is a paranormal film about a haunted doll, not unlike Annabelle. Unlike Annabelle, this story isn't based on any true events, so they can make some truly terrifying acts without stretching the truth too much.
Come early February we get Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, based off a novel I didn't particularly enjoy. Hopefully, an adaptation to the silver screen will liven things up, as the book was as dead as half of the characters by the end. I'll see it as I see almost anything coming from the horror genre, but I have my doubts...
Finally, in the early summer, we have a confirmed sighting of a film that will no doubt turn heads. The Conjuring Two will hit theaters in June and will tell of another escapade the Warren duo investigated during their time as ghost chasers. The first one was great and this one will be too as James Wan is at the helm once more.
This should be enough to keep us well stocked for a bit, at least until the smaller projects surface and are revealed to us in their profane glory. Another Exorcism movie (that isn't just blatant proselytizing) would be nice, and I could go for a good ghost story with a new cast of characters. I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment...
Sweet Dreams!
