Kim was walking along the road towards the sunset, to a frat house where the party of the year was being held by the oldest son of the family, Riley Gilpine. The boy was something of an ass, but he was always able to get kegs and liquor for his parties, which made him tolerable. The fact that he was on the prowl for Kim’s older sister made her feel all the better, as the boy was far too brave for his own good.

The Trials of the Horned One, Part One
Waking up to a crack from a whip across the back isn’t any way any man should be awakened. Alas, dear friends, twas how James was awoken. Shaking his head groggily, he rubbed at his aching head and stinging back, blearily looking around to try and figure out what exactly had happened to him. Last he remembered, he was serving as a guard for a Jewish Caravan traveling through the Northern regions of West Francia towards Bretagne.

Earthen Invader Part One
The distant sounds of stone bells roused Maria from her slumber, causing her to groan as she shuffled deeper into the covers of her bed. It was a cold morning in the forest, and she didn’t want to go field-running right now. She sighed as she felt and arm lay over her frame, a supple body press up against her back.

Three Little Piggies Part One
Alice screamed as the unknown assailant threw himself bodily against the front door, the hinges rattling from the great weight. Cackling from the other side, cold metal slashed against the oak door, a hollow grating noise echoing throughout the house.

Mei and the Monastery of the Crow, Chapter Two
The kitchens were warm, lit by a central fire where several large caldrons hung over the dancing flames. Madam Wu, an aging Chinese woman who’d once been a proud warrior before suffering a crippling injury to her back, tended to the caldrons with a long handled spoon. Her sun-weathered face turned to regard Mei, eyes warm as she smiled.

Some Beach, Some Where, Part Two
Previous
Brian, dressed in his slacks and black long-sleeved shirt, stood in the parlor of their hotel, waiting for his wife to make her way downstairs so that they could take the carriage to the Lord's home.

Some Beach, Some Where, Part One
Brian smiled as he leaned back in his beach chair, a cold beer in his hand as he stared out at the cool blue waters of the island resort. To his left was Linda, his wife of three days. She was snoozing, a romance novel opened over her chest, one arm laying partially in the sand.

Jack Thompson, Part One
"Hello, world!" Jack Thompson said into the camera, his words almost drowned out by the dull roar of a plane engine. "This is Jack Shit Survival, where you don't know jack-shit of how to survive in the wilderness! But that's where I come in. You see I'm a survival expert, and I'll be showing you how to survive in the wild. Try to keep up!"

The Forbidden Valley Part One
Snow drifted lazily down in wayward arcs, the individual flakes twirling in the light breeze that caressed his frozen face. He hefted his bundle of trapped animals slung over his back, a mixture of foxes, wolverines and wolves. The giant man stomped through the light snow, heading for his home in the far outreaches of the Alaskan wilderness. Away from civilization, away from people…
Away from Them.

The Long Knife, Part One
David wandered down the hall, running his hand upon the fading paint and the chipped railing that had always been here at the Alice Grove Apartments for as long as he could remember. The red carpet, with its twisting dark red and brown cubist design made for an interesting walk when compared to the light floral print of the wallpaper, once a brilliant white but now a faded yellow, showing the hard times the apartment had suffered.

Haunted House of Every Street Part Two
The night was fully underway, the portable generator whirring as it provided power to the television, all four teens smoking pot, drinking beers (wine coolers for the girls) and playing a fighting game where they got to knock each other around with highly animated cartoon characters. So far Liz was winning despite not owning the system while Carlos seemed distracted by having Rose sitting between his legs.

Possession Part Two
It’s been three weeks since what I’ve learned from the Ouija Board experience. Angelica, my guardian angel, told me that I’d bound myself to Paul as he’d invited me into his home and that, so long as Paul remained content with the set-up for the time being I could slowly integrate myself into his body. I just had to slowly wear him down through what she called a “gradual haunting.”

The Black Crosses Part One
“The Black Crosses are after you, man!” Joey said from above my bed, staring down at me in my grave. I blink blearily up at him as I hoist myself up from the ground, patting off the dirt and grime I’d managed to gather during my six hours of death.

Possession Part One
Waves of undulating bodies press and mold against each other in the intolerable heat of the void, pinpricks of light from high above shining down on us just enough to make our pallid, nude forms look like sickly rats climbing over each other, bubbling skin sticking to each other as we clamber over one another due to the scalding temperatures. We suffer for what feels like untold ages, our bodies slowly breaking down before building back up, forever fighting to remain above the surface of the sea of boiling flesh.

The Story of Angela Part One
Curled up on the couch, Angela lay pressed against the dozing form of her boyfriend, her fingers interlocked with him as she stared into the crackling fire burning in his fireplace, the sole light in the small condominium. Bringing a mug of tepid hot chocolate to her lips with her free hand, she sighed happily; it was only a few days until Christmas and she’d finally convinced her boyfriend to let her stay the night at his place.

Haunted House of Every Street Part One
“Come on, we’re going to get busted!” Shane said, looking around as his girlfriend wrapped a cloth around her hand, preparing to punch out the glass of the window to the abandoned house.

The Witch of Ebon Marshes Part Two
Thomas and Brandon finished the fire-pit while Jacob gathered firewood from the surrounding trees. They’d made a great time that day, laughing and chasing each other all across the foothills while slowly growing closer to the lowlands. The weather was clear without a cloud in the sky, which suited Thomas just fine. He preferred camping without rain and always made it a habit of pitching his tent uphill, a fact he decided not to share with his friends so he could have the spot he desired.

The Necropolis, Prologue
Hot wind blew the stifling haze over the mire entrenched woods, an array of scents being carried on the stiff current. The scent of flowers blooming in the hot sun, their lilting lingering aroma that tickled at your nose mixed with the overly sweet scent of rot that wafted from the fallen logs sinking slowly into the fetid water clogged with murky weeds and blind, bony catfish. Deep within this swamp, far deeper than anyone sane would dare venture, laid the entrance to a forbidden place, a place forgotten by time and the people of the South, save for the occasional sweat-soaked nightmare that the vision of the land induced in those who, inexplicably, were drawn to this place.
Then and Now Part One
Three
youths were sitting around a campfire in the middle of nowhere, their
grandfather telling tales of their tribes past to them in his horse voice. All
three had heard most of his tales before, and were beginning to grow restless,
when the old man halted the tale of the Coyote Woman to gaze at them from
across the flames.
