Standing by as they nail him to the cross, I wonder what exactly he did to deserve such treatment; I mean, I know he was a dissident, but to earn such a tortuous death is beyond comprehension. Still, it’s not like we don’t put people up on the cross often enough. To his sides is a pair of thieves that were found guilty of their crimes, though they’re going to hang for a lot longer than he is.
Horror and Fantasy pieces that evolve and grow into full blown stories, all with you along for the ride.

Sirens Call Issue #21

A new issue of Sirens Call is out, and with it one of my original stories. The theme this issue is eco-horror, or when nature runs amok. It has an interview with K. Trap Jones, author of "One Bad Fur Day", along with stories from a variety of authors.
Check it out!

Blurred Edges, Chapter Ten
Claire ran around the side of the house in a panic, the screaming still coming from the front of the house sounding as if someone was being pulled apart by wild horses. Rounding the corner, she saw a small crowd of the gardeners gathered around the source of the screaming, with marten at the back pushing to get to the front. Claire sighed and prayed her medication would hold for the day as she didn’t feel like taking any Ativan today. Jogging up behind her boyfriend, who had parted the gardeners, she saw what the problem was.

Oh the Drudgery...
Hello again all you out there! I can see you through the darkness of the web and know right now you're wondering where the stories have been. Well, they've been stuck, sorry to say, as I work on a few other pieces I'm actually selling, so bear with my lack of updates.
On the homefront over here, my crypt is being worked on. Yes, there's a man that comes a little too close each day to dig away at the earth near my crumbling foundation, laying down piping to keep the waters from flooding down into my lair every time it rains. And San Antonio has been getting a lot of rain... still, I'm hardly a fan of people working in or around my home.
That's why I'm getting an air conditioner installed today.
I can see how that last sentence confused you. The wife, the demoness that she is, needs to be kept cool lest she burn the furniture, and our ten-year-old air conditioner was rusted all the way through. So I called up the local repair man, who promptly offered to either fix it or replace it.
Seeing as the prices were close, I chose to have it replaced fully, so that I can get a better warranty and not have to worry about this further down the road.
You'll be getting two updates, not counting this one, this week; so be prepared and try not to get too excited.

Blurred Edges Chapter Nine
For the next few days, Claire and Marten fell into a steady pattern of work. Both would wake up around nine in the morning, just in time for Marten to make some eggs and bacon and for them to have their cup of coffee before the contractors arrived at ten. Marten would tell the contractors where to work and what needed to be done while Claire would handle the finances and spend her days taking inventory of the many pieces of art within the house.

Curse of the Bejeweled Rosary, Part Two
Dominic sat in a swing bar, the Landing, nursing a drink paid for by the man he’d mugged earlier tonight. In one hand he held his drink, a Long Island Iced Tea, while in the other he held the jeweled rosary, slowly counting the beads, pushing them down the strand with his thumb one at a time. From a first glance, one could tell the rosary was old; far older than the man was who Dominic had gotten this from. It had inscriptions on the cross though they were so faded and in a different language that Dominic had no chance of making them out. He shrugged, wrapping the jeweled beads around his wrist, palming the cross while he took another sip from his drink.

Excursions into the World of the Living
Every Sunday, I crawl up from my crypt and venture out into the world of the living to see what the big deal is. I do this both to get groceries and run errands and to remind myself why I hate the human race so much. And boy, after the day I had being out and about with some of the best representatives of humanity, I am reminded why I'm such a social recluse.

Mark of the Vampire, Part Two
Derek walked up the stairs to the video booths, where the large video reels were placed to play the movie on the screen below. Looking through the small window, he smiled when he saw Dave’s bald head walking beneath him, along with Monica’s flowing hair. Looking over at the projector, Derek opened the canister and blew away a layer of dust that seemed to cake the interior. The film itself seemed clean as if someone had painstakingly wiped each frame down with a cloth, but the canister was dirty and foul. Setting the reel into the projector and feeding the end of the roll of film through the proper spots, Derek took a seat upon a stool and grabbed a rag, before wiping down the canister to rid it of the grime.
